The Hema Malini-starrer 'Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi', which revolves around the live of former MP Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia, has been made tax-free in Goa.
"Under powers conferred by sub section (3) of section 5 of the Goa Entertainment Tax act, 1964, Government of Goa is pleased to exempt the Hindi film 'Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi' from the liability of payment of entertainment tax in whole," reads a notification issued by under-secretary (finance) Ajit Pawaskar.
The movie is based on a novel written by Goa Governor Mridula Sinha and maps the life of late Scindia, the former Rajmata of Gwalior royal family and an ex-BJP MP.
Besides Hema Malini, it also stars late Vinod Khanna and Sachin Khedekar.
