As many as  200 students of Rani Jhansi School in Tughlakabad were admitted to four hospitals on Saturday after they fell ill due to gas leakage from a depot in southeast Delhi's Tughlakabad area.

The depot is located near a school in Railway Colony, Tughlakabad.

"Around 200 children have been admitted to 4 hospitals for treatment, no one is serious," said Romil Baniya, DCP South East.

"Situation normal now," he added.

A call was received around 7:35 AM about the gas leakage and seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot, said a senior officer from Delhi Fire Services, adding that the source of leakage was not clear.

"We have evacuated students, teachers and other staff from Rani Jhansi Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya in Tughlakabad," a fire official said.

Police said that the students have been admitted to the hospital without giving further details.

In a series of tweets, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia commented on the incident. He said 85 students have complained of irritation in the eyes, adding that the students have been shifted to three hospitals in the school's vicinity.
