Priyanka Jethalal Maru climbed up to the 18th floor of an under-construction building in Sewri area this morning and was spotted while shooting her own video on mobile phone this morning.

She had planned to jump off the building after shooting video of her statement and uploading it online, police said.

After a resident of nearby building called the control room, a police team reached the spot and persuaded her not to take the extreme step.

Inspector Shalini Sharma, who is trained in handling hostage situations, was instrumental in dissuading Maru.

After taking her in custody, police admitted her to the civic-run hospital in Parel. She was being counselled.
