A Sashashtra Seema Bal (SSB) team today arrested a smuggler along with 7 kg of charas worth around Rs 1 crore along the Indo-Nepal border in Bihar's East Champaran district.
SSB's 47 battalion's Commandant Sonam Chherring said that acting on a tip-off, the SSB team arrested one Rakesh Kumar Patel from Kaurihar chowk on Indo-Nepal border under Raxaul police station area of the district when he crossed into Indian territory from Nepal side with the consignment on a rickshaw.
The team seized 7 kg of charas put in 13 packets estimated to be valued around Rs 1 crore in the international market, the Commandant said.
Rakesh Kumar Patel, a resident of Bijbani village of the district, has been handed over to Raxaul police after having interrogated him, he said.
