A leopard, which is on the prowl at Puliamkombai village located in Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve, today tried to maul a goat but was scared away villagers.
Two days back in the same village, the leopard had pounced on a goat, killed it and taken it away.
Today, the wild animal had entered a cattle pound in the village and tried to maul a goat, but villagers noticed it and raised an alarm, forest officials said.
On hearing the noise, the leopard fled, officials said.
The villagers have demanded that the officials trap the animal.
