Copper weakens in lacklustre trade

Copper prices weakened further in an otherwise lacklustre non-ferrous metal market here today following selling by stockists amid lower demand from industrial users.

While, lead recovered due to fresh demand from alloy industries.



Copper scrap heavy slid by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 385 from Thursday's close of Rs 390 and copper armature eased by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 381 as against Rs 385 yesterday.

Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar moved down by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 392 and Rs 420 as compared to Rs 395 and Rs 423 previously.

Copper utensils and copper sheet cuttings edged down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 360 and Rs 380 from Rs 362 and Rs 382, respectively.

However, lead regained by a Re per kg to Rs 158.
