A Chennai-based scrap dealer was allegedly abducted by three persons, including two women, who also demanded a ransom of Rs 90 lakh for his release, following which they were arrested, the police said today.

J Shyam Kumar (52) was rescued late last night. The accused, Aashi (35), Sarju (32) and Shakir (34), were arrested today, the Pahari Police said.



The accused had been corresponding with the victim from several days for executing a scrap deal. Finally, Kumar decided to settle the deal and came to on the evening of May 3.

He was abducted from the International Airport (JIA) and taken to Pahari town in Bharatpur division where the accused thrashed him and demanded a ransom of Rs 90 lakh, DSP Kama Rai Singh Beniwal told PTI.

He said that following negotiation, the victim's family in got the ransom money of Rs 20 lakh deposited in the provided account numbers.

SHO Pahari, Chand said Rs 10 lakh each were deposited in accounts in and Makrana.

"We had got a tip-off regarding the abduction following which we laid a trap and arrested the accused. Few others involved in the kidnapping are yet to be arrested. We have recovered the ransom amount from the accounts," Chand said.

Further arrests are likely in the case, the police said.
