RSS outfit wants BCCI to cancel Oppo contract

An RSS outfit on Thursday invoked “national pride” to seek cancellation of BCCI’s contract with Chinese mobile phone company Oppo for sponsoring the Indian cricket team.

Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, which is opposed to promotion of foreign goods and companies within the country, also urged India to reduce its dependence on imports from China. “Money cannot be more important than national pride and welfare of our own citizens and industry. We, therefore, urge you to interfere in the matter and use your good offices to cancel the agreement between Oppo and BCCI,” SJM national co-convener Ashwani Mahajan said.
