Silver futures rise 0.24 pc on global cues

Silver prices were up by Rs 94 to Rs 39,159 per kg in futures trade today after participants raised their bets amid firming global trends.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month July was trading higher by Rs 94 or 0.24 per cent to Rs 39,159 per kg in a business turnover of 471 lots.



Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May was trading higher by Rs 55 or 0.09 per cent to Rs 38,744 per kg in a business volume of 39 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in silver prices at futures trade to raising of bets by participants, tracking a firming trend in precious metals overseas.

Globally, silver rose 0.15 per cent to USD 16.84 an ounce in today.
