TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - May 03, 2017) - The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP) applauds the Manitoba government's decision to issue a request for proposals (RFP) to develop a Public-Private Partnership (P3) business case and financial advisory services to construct four new schools with a total value of more than $100 million.
"A rigorous and disciplined due diligence process is the backbone of a successful P3 project," says Mark Romoff, President and CEO of the CCPPP. "Premier Pallister is taking a pragmatic approach in order to determine whether, in fact, the P3 approach is the best way to proceed with the design, build, finance and maintenance of these schools. Above all, it's the best way to ensure these projects are delivered on time, on budget and provide the best possible value for tax payers in Manitoba."
The P3 procurement model has most recently been used successfully on school projects in Saskatchewan and Alberta. They are among 256 public-private partnership projects across Canada valued at more than $120 billion dollars.
