Two businessmen were today nabbed for allegedly organising cricket betting and Rs 1.92 lakh was seized from them, police said.

R Sridhar and A Srinivas were accepting betting amounts in the limits of S R Nagar Police station from punters directly and indirectly over cellphones for the match between Rising Supergiant and Lions played in yesterday, the police said in a release here.



Sleuths of Commissioner's Task Force (West Zone), based on a tip-off, nabbed Sridhar and Srinivas from an apartment when they were taking cricket betting amounts, it said.

During preliminary investigation it was found that the duo had collected and distributed cricket betting amounts from around 30 punters over the past one year.

Police seized one TV, laptop, five cellphones besides Rs 1.92 lakh from their possession, the release added.
