Heatwave conditions continued to persist in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, with maximum temperatures hovering at 40° Celsius, while a brief spell of evening rain brought the mercury down in the national capital.

According to the Met office, Allahabad experienced a little over 41° Celsius, while Lucknow also saw a similar temperature. Three persons have died from sunstroke in Bundelkhand region in the past 24 hours.
The weather office has predicted a partly cloudy sky in some parts of Uttar Pradesh on Monday, giving some respite to people from the soaring temperatures. It was a pleasant day in the national capital, which received traces of rain in the evening.

The minimum temperature settled at 24.3° Celsius, normal for this time of the season, a MeT official said.
Residents of Jaipur woke up to a pleasant morning as a minimum temperature of 26.5° Celsius was recorded.

Dust storms followed by mild to moderate showers continued to provide relief from the scorching heat across Rajasthan. The temperature came down a few notches across Tamil Nadu on Sunday, with some southern districts receiving moderate rain.
