An 11-member team of the Mountaineers' Association of Krishnagar (MAK) in Nadia district will try to scale the Trisul 1 peak.

The team comprising mostly of teachers will be led by Bashanta Singha Roy, who has climbed the Mt Everest.



Trisul is a group of three Himalayan mountain peaks in western Kumaun, with the highest (Trisul I) reaching 7120m. The three peaks resemble a trident.

Roy today said, "We will follow the Ronti glacier at West face, South West ridge route."

"We will start walking from Sutal and our first base camp will be placed at the height of 4550 metre near Homkunda," he said.
