Vigilance sleuths today arrested an assistant sub-inspector of police while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a person to submit case records to court in connection with a criminal case.
The person from whom the bribe was sought informed the vigilance department about it and a trap was laid, vigilance officials said.
The accused ASI, posted at the Kendrapara police station, was caught red-handed while receiving chemical-coated currency notes from the complainant.
The policeman was booked under Prevention of Corruption Act.
