Currently, measurement survey work is underway in 10 districts falling under the project.



Farmers and locals of Sinnar, Shahapur taluka in and some other districts in have been holding protests against the project. Last week a group of farmers in Shivade village in Sinnar had held a protest against the measurement exercise.

"The will take care of the farmers affected by project and they will get proper compensation for their land. They would be provide with alternative land," he told reporters here last evening.

Yesterday, a large number of farmers and locals had gathered at Shahapur in to stage a rasta-roko over the project.
