New Delhi: The Centre has released Rs19,000 crore out of the Rs80,000 crore development package for Jammu and Kashmir announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This was disclosed at a high-level inter-ministerial meeting chaired by home minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday, in New Delhi.

Singh on Thursday chaired an inter ministerial meeting to discuss the PM’s development package for Kashmir, which had been announced on 7 November 2015.

“The meeting was attended by 15 ministries that are involved in more than 60 development projects in Jammu and Kashmir, including roads and highways, additional funds for flood relief and management and other departments including power, renewable energy, health, education, agriculture, tourism and funds for rehabilitation of displaced people,” said a senior government official requesting anonymity.
