Four killed, 17 hurt in bus-truck collision

Four persons were today killed and 17 others injured in a bus-truck collision in Deegod under Badarwas police station area here, police said.

The injured have been admitted to hospital, Badarwas police inspector PP Mudgal said.



The bus driver Kali Charan Ahirwar (28) of Datia district in Madhya Pradesh, truck driver Himanshu Yadav (28) hailing from Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, passenger Shivraj Kushwaha of MP's Morena district died instantly in the head-on collision, he said.

Another severely injured passenger Kushwaha of Datia died enroute to a hospital in Gwalior, the inspector said.

The ill-fated bus was on its way to from Indore while the mangled truck, laden with potatoes was heading to Guna from in when the accident occurred this morning.

"We have registered a case and further investigations are on," Mudgal said.

Initial investigations suggest that the truck driver dozed off following which his vehicle rammed into the bus around 5 AM, sources close to police, said.
