Mentha futures extend losses, down 0.58% on muted demand

Continuing its losing streak for the third day, mentha prices fell by another 0.58 per cent to Rs 923.10 per kg in futures market today as participants engaged in trimming their positions, taking negative cues from spot market on low demand from consuming industries.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha for delivery in April declined by Rs 5.40, or 0.58 per cent, to Rs 923.10 per kg, in a business turnover of 44 lots.



On similar lines, the for delivery in May was trading lower by Rs 5.20, or 0.55 per cent, to Rs 933.80 per kg in 99 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by traders, driven by sluggish demand from consuming industries against ample stocks position mainly kept mentha prices lower at futures trade.
