The process to issue the appointment letters to selected Junior Basic Training (JBT) teachers would begin from tomorrow in Haryana, Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma said here this evening.
As per the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High court, all the selected teachers would be appointed as per the merit list of the Haryana Staff Selection Commission, Sharma told reporters.
"The process to issue appointment letters to selected JBT teachers will begin tomorrow and it would take a week's time to complete," he said.
Paving the way for the joining of around 9,455 JBT teachers recruited during previous Congress government in 2014, the Punjab and Haryana high court on Thursday vacated stay on their appointment.
A division bench had passed these orders while hearing an appeal filed by the selected candidates seeking vacation of May 11, 2016 orders staying their appointment.
The high court had halted their recruitment after hearing a petition alleging irregularities in their selection process.
Meanwhile, Sharma said the works carried out for improvement of education during the 30-month tenure of the present government were "unprecedented".
These included promotion and Assured Career Progression (ACP) of teachers, he said.
As many as 6,000 teachers have been given the benefits of ACP which were pending for the last several years. Similarly, 1,177 Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs) have been promoted to the post of Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs), Sharma said.
He said orders have been issued to promote 700 school lecturers to the post of principals.
