Press Trust of India  |  Phagwara (Pb)

Police today arrested four

persons, including two brothers, for alleged fraud, forgery, impersonation and criminal conspiracy.

The accused have been identified as Hitesh Kumar Suman, Munish Kumar Suman, both brothers living in Khera colony, Kamlesh Kumari of Bhagatpura and Hem Kumar of Kotrani.

They were arrested under various sections of IPC.

Both the brothers had submitted fake papers of their annual for getting fee concession benefits due for SC students, from local Ramgarhia Polytechnic during their Civil engineering diploma course, police said.

While their father Jagdish Suman lived in Kuwait and earned respectable income, the duo showed their annual as not more than Rs 25,000 in order to avail of SC benefits in the fee concession, police said.

For getting income's official certificate, the brothers presented their relative as their father before the officer concerned, police said.

Kamlesh Kumari, who had earlier helped the two brothers in making fake papers, later became herself the complainant but was arrested when truth came to light, police added.
