PositiveShift, a skill development company offering learning solutions through an online platform, plans to launch a dedicated TV channel for learning and raise up to $15 million to fund its expansion.

The learning network platform www.wiise.in has been developed with a seed fund of $750,000 and includes WIISE online, TV, Connect, Start and Junior.

Vijay Ketan Mitra, CEO of PositiveShift, said, “We have been offering affordable access to quality learning for the last four years. As we expand our platform, we will launch a TV channel dedicated to learning.” “To fund the expansion, we plan to raise up to $15 million and are in talks with private equity companies,” he said.

Vivek Reddy, Chief Business Officer, said, “Our objective is to bring interactive courses and certifications from across the world through reputed global academic institutes and industry experts. Beyond conventional online medium, we also plan to launch WIISE TV, which will be direct-to-home, and WIISE Connect centres to reach out and connect to tier-II and III centres.”

Of the 100 centres planned, 10 will be company promoted and the rest on franchisee model, they said. WIISE has been running an entrepreneurship programme for trainers and the 19th batch is set to

start shortly. Through tie-ups with premier institutes, the company plans to offer live virtual courses beginning this summer. The company has signed up with IIM Lucknow and Goa Institute of Management, among others.

“We have developed a platform which can be used by those seeking to share their learning and teach people. The learning network helps achieve personal and professional goals,” Venkata Ramana, COO of the company, said.
