Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat today inaugurated a 100 mw solar power plant at Bhalsawagaj in Haridwar district.

The chief minister said the plant will generate electricity worth Rs 100 crore annually and give employment to nearly 1,500 people.



"Prime Minister Modi has set a target of providing everyone home and basic amenities like power, water and toilets by 2022and this is a small step in keeping with that vision," Rawat said after inaugurating the plant.

Besides generating power worth Rs 100 crore annually, the solar power plant will also give employment to 1,500 people, an official release quoting him said.

Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, who was also present at the inauguration, said the solar plant will prove to be a milestone in the development of the state.
