A local court today sentenced a man to 15 years in jail for possessing 5.35 quintal ganja five years ago.
Additional District Judge ISN Thakur also slapped a fine of Rs one lakh on convict Rakesh Kumar who was arrested after the contraband was found in his vehicle.
According to the prosecution, Kumar was driving a vehicle that overturned when chased by the police in a place under Sahebganj police station of Muzaffarpur district on August 22, 2012.
The police seized 5.35 quintal ganja from the vehicle and Kumar was arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
