Forest officials have arrested a man in connection with the recent seizure of tusks near a roadside eatery at Kansar in Sambalpur district.

Following a tip-off, O P Biswal (35) of Beherenbasa under Jujumura police station area, who had been on the run after the seizure of tusks, was arrested yesterday, Sadar Forest Range Officer, T R Nayak, said.



The forest officials had earlier arrested seven persons in connection with the seizure of the two tusks on February 22 last.

"We came to know that Biswal had come to Bhatra area of the city to attend a marriage function. We laid a trap and arrested him from the venue of the wedding ceremony," the Range Officer said.
