Eighty children have been shortlisted for the final selection camp of Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) programme which will start from May 2 here.

These children, who proved their mettle at their respective ISL Clubs scouting festivals earlier this month, are set to move ahead under the watchful mentor-ship of Piet Hubers, technical director of the Grassroots Development Programme for the Hero Indian Super League and Mark Vaessen, head coach of the RFYC, a media release issued here said.



The two teams from South - Blasters FC and Chennaiyin FC - showed great promise with 13 kids shortlisted from each clubs grassroots scouting efforts. Of the remaining 54 shortlisted kids through RFYC Club Scouting Festivals - 12 are from Atletico de Kolkata, 11 are from NorthEast United FC, 10 from City FC, 9 from Dynamos FC, 7 from FC and 5 from FC City, it said.

The shortlisted kids were selected from over 480 participants who were handpicked by each clubs scouting programme, the release added.

The shortlisted candidates will take part in theoretical sessions in the form of seminars in tandem with practical sessions that will test their technical ability, fitness and skills etc. During the five days of training at Fr. Agnels, Vashi.
