Market back in green: Shares of Hindalco, DLF, Vedanta, ICICI Bank soar in volume

NEW DELHI: The domestic equity market snapped three-day losses to trade in green on Monday, with shares of Hindalco, DLF, Vedanta and ICICI Bank among most active stocks in terms of traded volume.


Shares of Hindalco Industries (number of shares traded: 0.96 crore), DLF (0.89 crore), Vedanta Ltd (0.88 crore), ICICI Bank (0.75 crore), SBI (0.57 crore), PNB (0.54 crore), Adani Ports SEZ (0.52 crore), Bank of Baroda (0.50 crore), PFC (0.31 crore), Bharti Infratel (0.30 crore), Idea Cellular (0.29 crore), SAIL (0.29 crore), JSW Steel (0.26 crore), BHEL (0.23 crore), Ashok Leyland (0.22 crore), Axis Bank (0.22 crore), Tata Steel (0.22 crore), GAIL (0.19 crore), NTPC (0.18 crore), Power Grid (0.17 crore) were among the most traded securities in the morning trade around 11.15 am (IST) on NSE in Tuesday ’s session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 73.85 points up at 9,213.15 at around the same time, while BSE Sensex was up 253.74 points at 29667.4.

In the Nifty index, Hindalco Inds. (up 3.83 per cent), Adani Ports SEZ (up 3.69 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 3.03 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 2.44 per cent), Indian Oil Corp (up 2.18 per cent), NTPC (up 2.13 per cent), SBI (up 2.04 per cent), Zee Ent. (up 1.95 per cent), Aurobindo Pharm (up 1.72 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (up 1.64 per cent), Tata Steel (up 1.46 per cent), GAIL (up 1.33 per cent), HDFC Bank (up 1.13 per cent) and BPCL (up 1.13 per cent) were trading in green, while Coal India Ltd (down 1.52 per cent), Bharti Airtel (down 1.04 per cent), Ambuja Cements (down 0.45 per cent), M&M (down 0.42 per cent), Sun Pharma (down 0.38 per cent), Kotak Bank (down 0.37 per cent), Bajaj Auto (down 0.25 per cent), Cipla (down 0.07 per cent), Tata Power (down 0.06 per cent), Hindustan Unilever (down 0.08 per cent), Wipro (down 0.09 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp (down 0.10 per cent) were among top losers in the index.
