[India], Apr. 14 (ANI): Hundred of devotees in Jharkhand's rural areas walked on fire to appease Lord Shiva and pray for the well-being of their families.

Radheshyam Keshri, the president of 'Manda Puja' in Chutia locality, told ANI yesterday, "The devotees walked on burning coal in the annual Manda festival this year to appease Lord Shiva and pray for the well-being of their families. This puja spreads peace and social harmony among the people."

The Manda Puja is observed during this month all over the state. Devotees keep fast for the entire week, take bath in the pond or river and worship in the village temple. After that, they walk bare foot on burning coal. (ANI)
