Lt Governor Kiran Bedi today honoured two autorickshaw drivers for their honesty in charging passengers as per rates fixed by the government.
In an initiative to verify if passengers were being overcharged, especially during night time or in the wee hours, she had yesterday deputed two of her staff to travel in autorickshaws to various localities.
After the staff reported that the drivers had charged as per the meter, Bedi invited K Murugesan and S Manikandan to Raj Nivas and appreciated their honesty by presenting shawls.
Later, she said in a message that the two drivers had really set an example for the others of their ilk to follow.
