In line with the Centre’s policy of ‘ease of doing business’ in ports, New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) has introduced e-visa stamping facility on arrival for cruise tourists calling at the port.

A press release by NMPT said here on Thursday that the Bureau of Immigration has issued e-visa to six guests from the UK, the USA and Australia. These passengers had visited New Mangalore on board the vessel MS Seabourn Encore on April 8.

NMPT has been witnessing a steady growth in cruise traffic over the years. It said that 28 cruise vessels with 30,246 passengers called at the port during 2016-17 against 23 vessels with 19,000 passengers in the previous fiscal.
