Day temperatures rose in many parts of Uttar Pradesh with Jhansi sweltering under the scorching sun at 43.2 degrees Celsius.

The Met office here said that day temperature appreciably rose in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Allahabad, Agra, rose in Faizabad, Bareilly divisions and changed a little in the remaining divisions of the state.
They were appreciably above normal in Allahabad, above normal in Varanasi, Agra, Meerut divisions and were normal in the remaining divisions of the state.
