"These meetings will be held on different dates in different villages in which the concerned sarpanch, panch, gram secretary and local villagers would participate," he said.

A notification has been issued to all district collectors by the and Rural Development department, asking them to start the preparation for the meetings.

Chief Minister Raman Singh has appealed to people of the state, particularly those residing in rural areas, to attend Gram Sabha meetings in large numbers, so that an open and elaborate discussion can be held on issues related to panchayats, the official said.

All government-sponsored development schemes will be reviewed during such meetings by the villagers.

The villagers can also seek information about the fund received in villages and the amount spent on various development works, he added.
