Paralysed woman found dead, husband untraceable

IANS  |  Kolkata

A middle-aged woman suffering from paralysis was found dead at her house here, police said on Wednesday, adding a case has been filed against her husband following her son's complaint.

"Deepa Das, 55, a resident of Garfa's Viveknagar (in south Kolkata), was found dead in her house on Tuesday night while the door of her room was locked from outside," said an officer from Garfa police station.

"Her husband Kalyan Das, 65, who allegedly had a fight with her earlier in the day, is missing since the incident," he said.

Police said their son complained of frequent rows between his parents and said that his father was depressed due to the vast expenses for his mother's treatment.

"A case has been lodged against Kalyan on the basis of his son's complaint. The accused is still untraceable. Further inquiry is on," the officer added.
