The six arrested allegedly carried deadly weapons like swords, chopper, bhojali, and knife, a senior officer of Police said.

"There were some 200-250 supporters who participated in the rally in the Tala Bridge last night. Midway during the procession, some processionists started displaying deadly weapons like swords, chopper, bhojali, knife in a violent mood," the officer said.

The rally was stopped midway and several processionists were detained, he said.

The police started a suo motu case against the six and booked them under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
