New Delhi: The ruling dispensation at the Centre has moved the Supreme Court against its verdict by which protection to armed forces under the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) for anti-militancy operation in Manipur has been negated.

SC agreed to consider Centre’s curative plea against its verdict in the Manipur encounter case.

The Centre sought exemption for the armed forces from inquiry by police in case of encounter death in areas where AFSPA is in force.
