The Indian Railways is to launch digital contract, a system of digitisation of its entire supply chain across all zones. The step is aimed at improving the ease of doing business and transparency. With 100 per cent E-tenders and E-auctions already assimilated into the system, railways are further planning to build on these initiatives to achieve seamless flow of material, finances and information. Digital contract, a seamlessly integrated digital supply chain, to be launched by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on April 11, envisages involving stakeholders including industries, financial institutions, internal customers of railways and inspecting agencies to create an efficient, responsive and transparent system.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to inaugurate an exhibition to mark 100 years of Mahatma Gandhi’s Champaran Satyagrah on Tuesday. The exhibition to be held in the national Capital will be titled ‘Swachhagraha — Bapu Ko Karyanjali — Ek Abhiyan, Ek Pradarshani’. He will also launch an ‘Online Interactive Quiz’ at the event which is being organised by the National Archives of India. The quiz will continue for 30 months till October 2019. In a series of tweets on Monday, PM Modi said the Champaran Satyagraha was a historic mass movement which had a phenomenal impact and urged the countrymen to become ‘Swachhagrahis’ and create a Swachh Bharat.

LeEco is expected to launch the LeEco Le Max 3, its smartphone with dual camera, on April 11. Apart from the dual-camera set-up and AI assistant, the smartphone is reported to come with water resistance as well. The LeEco Le Max 3 smartphone is expected to feature one monochrome lens and a RGB sensor at the rear end.

Microsoft is finally ready to ship to its users the Windows 10 Creators Update, the next major iteration of its desktop operating system. The free update will start rolling out globally on April 11. Users will also be able to force the update from their Windows settings. As the name implies, the focus of the update is on “creators.” Microsoft is going for a pretty broad interpretation of this theme here, but the highlights of the release are improved support for the upcoming crop of Windows-centric mixed reality and virtual reality headsets (especially for developers), better support for games thanks to a new dedicated game mode and built-in streaming to Beam, as well as new creative tools such as Paint 3D. The update also features the new night-light mode to help you sleep better, screen time limits that parents can set for their children and updates to the Windows Hello security feature.

President Pranab Mukherjee is to present the SCOPE awards to central public sector enterprises (CPSEs) on April 11. The function will be presided over by Mukherjee. Heavy Industry and Public Enterprises Minister Minister Anant Geete will also be present on the occasion. The winners of SCOPE Meritorious Awards are HPCL, PFC, HAL, WAPCOS, NALCO, REIL, SAIL, REC, GAIL & NTPC, it said. SCOPE awards have been instituted to recognise the contribution of public enterprises and to encourage outstanding persons for their hard work and leadership qualities.
