Prominent jewellers of West Bengal would honour 16 women hailing from the state who had done excellent work in their respective fields.
The honour would be given by the Swarna Shilpi Bachao Committee, a body of jewellers, which also organises the annual Sonar Sansar jewellery expo to held in the city this month from April 21 to April 24.
Secretary of the committee Samar De said that since women were very fond of jewellery, the jewellers of the state have decided to honour them during the upcoming expo.
The categories chosen were media, film, sports, entrepreneurship, medicine, performing arts, fashion and lifestyle, music and literature.
