5 held for creating a scene at minister Sait's office

The Vidhana Soudha police have detained one Shanthakumar and four others for creating a ruckus at Education Minister Tanveer Sait's office on Tuesday.

The five from Mysuru had come to meet the minister asking him to reduce minimum marks for the PU lecturers’ post from 55 to 50%. When the minister tried to reason with them that it cannot be done, they accused the minister of abusing them citing their religion.

The staff of the minister called the police stating that they were threatening him with dire consequences. The police and detained them and registered a complaint and a counter complaint from both the parties.
