The Centre is finalising an innovative model to encourage public-private partnership (PPP) in the health care sector. With this, private service providers would be given space in district health centres to set up screening and treatment facilities for four major non-communicable diseases, including cancer and chronic kidney ailments. It is learnt that the NITI Aayog is looking at a pay-per-use model for the same. That is, the service provider will be entitled to charge a fee on a per patient basis at the health centres.
