The Haryana Police today arrested two persons on charges of smuggling drugs and claimed to have seized 22 kg poppy husk from them.
"The duo was travelling from Madhya Pradesh to Punjab," a spokesman of the state police department said here.
The accused have been identified as Rajkumar alias Raju and Rana Kumar, both residents of Ludhiana in Punjab. They were arrested at the Bastara Toll Plaza in Karnal, he said.
"During interrogation, the duo said they had bought the poppy husk from an unknown person at a railway station in Madhya Pradesh and were travelling to Punjab to sell it," the spokesman said.
