Market falls; Bhushan Steel, Archies hit their fresh 52-week high
NEW DELHI: Shares of Jindal Worldwide, Pneumatic Holdings Ltd., Hindustan Comp, Electrosteel, Archies Ltd, Vascon Engineer, Websol Energy, Nath Bio-Genes, Bhushan Steel, Aditya Birla Money, Madras Fert, and STEL Holdings hit their fresh 52-week high in the first half of trade on NSE.
However, stocks such as VKS Projects, Farmax India, Rasoya Proteins, Nagarjuna Agri, Cigniti Tech, Persistent Systems, Capital Trust, TTK Healthcare, Shekhawati Poly, FCS Software, and Gallantt Ispat touched their fresh 52-week low.
The NSE Nifty index was down 8.30 points at 9,190 in afternoon trade following mixed global cues.
Overall, 31 shares were trading in the green in the Nifty50 index, while 18 were in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, BPCL, Indian Oil Corp, Bharti Infratel, Yes Bank, Coal India Ltd, Grasim Inds., Tata Motors, Tech Mahindra, Axis Bank, Zee Ent., Ambuja Cements were trading in the green, while Ibull Housing Finance, Asian Paints, HDFC, Eicher Motors, Wipro, GAIL, Hind. Unilever, Hero MotoCorp, Lupin, Dr Reddy's Labs, M&M, and Tata Power were among the major losers in the index.
The BSE Sensex was down 66.10 points at 29640.51 around 12.55 pm.
Traders were seen piling up positions in retail, shipping, infrastructure, petroleum, cables, petrochemicals, leather and finance while selling was visible in packaging, iron & steel, glass, rubber, auto and banks.
