Cooperation in education important for India, Australia: Narendra Modi

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said cooperation in education and research is one of the most important aspects of relations between India and Australia.

He said that both countries recognised the central value of education and innovation in the prosperity of our societies.

In a press statement after a delegation-level talks with visiting Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Modi said both of them reviewed the entire gamut of the bilateral relations.

"We took a number of forward-looking decisions to further strengthen our partnership, including holding soon the next round of negotiations on our comprehensive economic cooperation agreement."

Turnbull is on a four-day state visit to India, starting Sunday.
