Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday sought more funds from the Centre for the development of Uttar Pradesh.
Attending the eleventh inter-state council meeting here, which was chaired by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Adityanath sought the funds especially for upliftment of the backward eastern and Bundelkhand regions, which was also a poll promise of the BJP during the recent Assembly polls.
In his inaugural address, the home minister pitched for peace and stability to fulfill the “common desire to take this nation forward”.
