Three-times Masters champion Phil Mickelson, seeking his first Green Jacket since 2010, birdied the first two holes to move two shots behind the four co-leaders who had yet to tee off.
MCILROY BOOSTS GRAND SLAM HOPES
Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy, who needs a win this week to complete a set of the four grand slam titles, birdied two of his first three holes to reach one under for the tournament, three adrift of the co-leaders.
