Cab driver in hospital after attack by 3 Africans

A cab driver was beaten up by three Africans over a trivial issue in KR Puram, east Bengaluru, on Friday night, police said.

The driver, Santosh, had picked up a foreigner identified as Jeff from Bhattarahalli in KR Puram and was headed towards the city. On the way, Jeff asked Santosh to pull in as he had to pick up two of his friends, including a woman.

Though Santosh objected initially, he obliged him later. Trouble began as soon as the car began to move and the drunk trio inside started creating a ruckus. They then started attacking Santosh as he objected to their behaviour inside his car.

They not only beat him up, but also forced him to drop them back home and refused to pay the fare. Santosh later got himself admitted to a hospital before filing a complaint with the KR Puram police. The police have registered a case and efforts are on to nab the three.
