Good buying support from dealers has pushed up pepper prices further on Friday. Dealers were replacing their stocks sold earlier and that in turn has raised the spot prices further while the availability remained limited, market sources told Business Line.

Rajkumari pepper traded at ₹620 a kg while high range material was traded at ₹615 a kg. 11 tonnes were traded on the terminal market. Spot prices went up by ₹200 a quintal to close at ₹58,600 (ungarbled) and ₹61,600 (garbled) a quintal.

April, May and June contracts on the IPSTA remained unchanged at ₹63,000, ₹62,000 and ₹58,000 a quintal respectively. Indian export prices were at ₹9,925 a tonne c&f for Europe and $10,175 a tonne c&f for US.
