The Commission on Friday asked the (Amma) and (Puratchi Thalaivi Amma) groupings to stop using the "Two Leaves" symbol of the undivided

The poll panel said that "Two Leaves" has been frozen by it and no one had any claim over it.

The Commission said it had got complaints from R.K. Nagar assembly constituency that the (Puratchi Thalaivi Amma) party had put up posters and uploaded social media messages showing its symbol 'electric pole' super-imposed on 'Two Leaves'.

"(Amma) has continued to use symbol 'Two Leaves' in its official website and in other party papers," the statement pointed out.

For the by-in R.K. Nagar seat to the Tamil Nadu assembly, the Commission has allotted "Hat" symbol to the (Amma).

Tamil Nadu's ruling has split into two factions -- one led by the now jailed party General Secretary V.K. Sasikala and the other led by former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam.

Both factions have fielded candidates for the April 12 by-in the constituency, a seat held by late Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa.
