Sensex falls: Shares of Idea, Coal India, ICICI Bank soar in volume
NEW DELHI: The domestic equity market was in red for a second straight session with shares of Idea Cellular, Coal India, SAIL, HIndalco and ICICI Bank among the most active stocks in terms of volume.
Shares of Idea Cellular (number of shares traded: 1.88 crore), Coal India Ltd (0.86 crore), SAIL (0.66 crore), Hindalco Inds. (0.64 crore), ICICI Bank (0.63 crore), Tata Motors (0.57 crore), DLF (0.55 crore), JSW Steel (0.51 crore), BHEL (0.44 crore), RIL (0.44 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in Friday ’s session.
The NSE Nifty was 18.15 points down at 9,243.8, while BSE Sensex was 62.49 points down at 29,864.85.
In the Nifty index, Indian Oil Corp (up 2.66 per cent), Bharti Airtel (up 2.31 per cent), BPCL (up 2.16 per cent), Bharti Infratel (up 1.71 per cent), Larsen & Toubro (up 1.61 per cent), Bajaj Auto (up 1.02 per cent), HDFC (up 0.60 per cent), Eicher Motors (up 0.60 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 0.58 per cent), GAIL (up 0.50 per cent) stood among top gainers
However, Sun Pharma (down 2.18 per cent), Bank of Baroda (down 1.83 per cent), Dr Reddys Labs (down 1.62 per cent), Ibull HousingFin (down 1.55 per cent), Hind. Unilever (down 1.33 per cent), Coal India Ltd (down 1.33 per cent), RIL (down 1.30 per cent), Adani Ports SEZ (down 1.29 per cent), Zee Ent. (down 1.20 per cent), Lupin (down 1.07 per cent) remained top losers of the day.
