88% PU evaluators present on Day 2

On the second day of evaluation of II PU examination answer papers, 88% of the principals and lecturers were present at their assigned centres.

Director of the Department of Pre-University Education C Shikha said the evaluation pr­ocess was going on smoothly and 17,761 of 21,000 evaluators were present for duty. On the first day of the evaluation on Wednesday, the attendance was only around 60%. Shikha said notices will be issued to lecturers who were absent.

A total of 22,000 evaluators from government, private and aided colleges have been depu­ted for evaluation. They have to evaluate around 37 lakh answer papers of 6.8 lakh students. Earlier, an association of lecturers had decided to boycott the evaluation, demanding an increase in their pay.
