The Supreme Court on Thursday indicated that it will order a joint trial for conspiracy in the Babri Masjid demolition case against veteran BJP leaders L. K. Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and six others to be concluded in two years.

The court also hinted at transferring the trial from Rae Bareilly to Lucknow. It called the pendency of the trials as an "evasion of justice".

"What is the conspiracy here? Is it that I conspired with kar sevaks? A new probe should be launched to probe into this," said senior advocate K.K. Venugopal on behalf of Mr. Advani and Dr. Joshi.

On March 6, the apex court had decided to examine the appeal against dropping of conspiracy charge against the accused including Advani, Joshi and Uma Bharti in the case related to demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya in 1992.
