Senior Bihar leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Tuesday demanded that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar sack his environment & forests minister over his alleged involvement in a "soil purchase scam".

Here is all we know about the "scam" so far:

It is being alleged that gave contracts worth Rs 90 lakh for earth filling work in Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park in the state capital.

Yadav's department, under whose jurisdiction the Park falls, gave away the contract of Rs 90 lakh to a company without following the tender process for construction of a pathway and beautification work in the park, Modi alleged.

Sushil Modi, former deputy chief minister of Bihar, also asked the CM to order a probe into the alleged "soil purchase scam" worth Rs 90 lakh.

"Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should order a high-level probe into the 'soil purchase scam' in which is involved. CM should sack Yadav from his Cabinet without any delay," Modi said while talking to reporters in Patna on the sidelines of 'Janata Darbar' at his official residence.

"The entire episode smacks of misappropriation of public money... Politicians have also started reaping benefits by forming 'shell' companies in Bihar," Modi said.

In response, tweeted that he would file a defamation case against as he was trying to drag his reputation down.
